Meat Pads

“Absorbent Meat Pads”

Today we will discuss meat pads, absorbent pads, meat soaker pads, dry loc pads or as many call them the meat diapers, or sometime referred to as meat pampers.

Did you ever wonder how to avoid that extra fluid in the meat tray? Ever wondered how to keep fresh meat for a longer time? Ever wondered how to deal with extra fluid when defrosting meat? There is actually one solution – the absorbent meat pad. Meat pads come in different sizes and absorbencies, colors and materials. Which one shall I use?

First, it’s important to know that meat pads are also used for fish and produce and a variety of food products. Furthermore, meat pads are even used in the non-food industry most common as a bandage for tattoos.

When purchasing meat pads, it’s important to know that the standard meat pad has a 40 gram absorbency and is 4×7. However, if you are looking for a more absorbent meat pad, the 50 gram meat pad is the pad which you should go with. It is 5×7 and absorbs more than the 40 gram although not as much as the 75 gram. This is a good pad to use if your meats are not pre-frozen and if it does not last on the shelf for too long. The 75 gram meat pad is a very useful pad when meat is on the shelf for a longer period of time, which means it releases more fluid. Also, it is very useful when the meat is frozen. This is because when meat is defrosted, it releases a lot of fluid and the 75 gram meat pad helps to absorb the fluid so there should be no messy fluid in the package. This greatly optimizes the appearance of the meat thereby increasing sales.
